Nazem Abd-Allah
Nazem is a final year International Relations student. Born in Spain,
he has lived in Egypt and France, and is fluent in five languages. His
principal academic interests include the military industrial complex,
Middle Eastern politics, and energy politics. He has interned for the
European Aeronautic Defence and Space Agency (EADS), where he worked
directly for the head of governmental affairs. Prior to the LSE, he
attended Clifton College in Bristol, England.

Muhammad Altamash
Muhammad is a final year International Relations student. Originally
from Pakistan, he has also lived in the United Arab Emirates. He is
fluent in Urdu and is studying to become proficient in French. His
academic focus has been on issues pertaining to security in the Middle
East as well as the relationship between Islam and the West. He has
previously worked as a journalist for several newspapers and magazines
and is currently working as an international correspondent for a leading
online news source. Following the completion of his studies, he intends
to pursue a career in journalism. Prior to the LSE, he attended St.
Mary’s Catholic High School in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Alexander Dresner
Alexander is a second year Government and History student. Originally
from the United States, he has lived most of his life in the United
Kingdom. He has interned in the Office of Senator Edward Kennedy and
worked as a production assistant on Hardball, a nationally
televised political talk show in the United States. He continued
to gain experience and pursue his interest in politics by recently
working in the speechwriting office of the United States Secretary of
Defense. Prior to the LSE, he attended Leighton Park School in Reading,
England.

Alexandre Errera
Alexandre is a final year International Relations student. Born in
France, he is half Argentinean and has lived in Paris, Brussels, and
Geneva. At the LSE, he is pursuing his interests in International
Political Economy, humanitarian intervention, and international
organisations. He is fluent in French and Spanish. He has interned at
the Council on Foreign Affairs Executive Office where he worked directly
for the President and will be joining the emerging markets team in the fixed income assets division at Morgan Stanley’s London office at the
end of the academic year. Prior to the LSE, he attended Dauphine
University in Paris.

Ari Helgason
Ari is a final year International Relations student from Iceland. His
principal academic interests are private military companies, strategic
communications, and public diplomacy. He has lived in Denmark, Italy
and the United Kingdom. He is fluent in Icelandic, Danish, German,
and Italian. He has pursued his interest in political strategy and
gained experience through placements in the political section of the
United Kingdom’s Conservative Party and with the polling firm Megafon
Consulting. Prior to the LSE he attended the Wallington County Grammar
School in Surrey, England.

Oren Levy
Oren is a final year International Relations student from the United
States. Fluent in Spanish and Hebrew, he is studying to become
proficient in French and Russian. His principal academic interests are
transatlantic politics as well as Russian and American foreign policy.
In 2007, he completed a stint as a summer analyst in Bear Sterns’
Mergers and Acquisitions division. Following the completion of his
studies, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in International
Relations. Prior to the LSE, he attended St. John’s School, Houston.

Joshua Lo
Joshua is a final year International Relations student from Singapore.
Excelling both academically and in his extra-curricular pursuits, Joshua
is currently President of the LSE Debate Society. Between 2003 and 2005,
he was a member of the Singapore Armed Forces, where he served in a
non-combat role dealing with defence news. Prior to the LSE, he
attended the Temasek Junior College, Singapore.

Manolo Reynaud
Manolo is a final year International Relations student. With French and
Mexican roots, he grew up in Vienna, Austria. He is fluent in
Spanish, French, German, and Italian. His principal interests are
European affairs, international organisations, and Latin American
development. He has interned at the Organisation for Security and
Co-operation in Europe. Prior to the LSE, Manolo attended the Lycée
Français de Vienne in Austria.

Alex Schwyhart
Alex is a final year International Relations student from the United
States. He specializes in East Asia, the Near East, American foreign
policy, and human rights. He has interned for Congressman John Boozman
(R-AR) as well as Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA). He is currently
studying Spanish and Mandarin. Next year, he will begin a master’s
degree in International Relations at Peking University, Beijing. Prior
to the LSE, he attended Rogers High School in Northwest Arkansas, United
States.

Selma Stern
Selma is a final year International Relations student from Germany. At
the LSE, she is pursuing her interests in International Political
Economy, strategic studies, and Middle Eastern history and politics. In
addition to her native German, she is fluent in French, Spanish and
Croatian. At the end of the academic year, she will begin work with the
Boston Consulting Group in Berlin. Prior to the LSE, she attended the
United World College in Wales.

Massimo Ungaro
Massimo is a final year International Relations student from Italy. His
areas of interest are European foreign policy and welfare issues.
Having lived in more than five countries including Russia, Saudi Arabia
and Mozambique, he has had broad international exposure. He is fluent
in French, Italian, German and Spanish. He has previously worked for
Oliver Wyman and the European Commission office in East Timor. Prior to
the LSE he attended the Lycée Chateaubriand in Rome.

Sonja is a final year International Relations student from Singapore.
Her principal academic interests lie in international economic relations
and development. She is fluent in German and Mandarin. She has
interned at UBS and Droege & Comp. in Singapore and China. After the
completion of her studies, she intends to pursue a career in
consulting. Prior to the LSE, she attended the United World College of
South East Asia.
